    1867: Ausstellungssammlung auf 40 Blättern, im groben und feinen Druck mit sieben gest. Marken in versch. Zähnungen, Ganzsachenausschnitten auf zwei Briefstücken, zehn Ganzsachen, dabei 1873 Korrespondenzkarte 2 Kr. gelb mit Zusatzfrankatur 13 Kr. zum Italienporto, weiterhin 40 Briefe mit guten Verwendungen  wie Drucksache, Ortsporto, Ortseinschreiben mit vorders. Frankatur, 15 Kr. als eingeschr. Einzelfrankatur im Inland, Mischfrankaturen, Expressbrief, illustrierte Werbebriefe, Postanweisungen und andere Postformulare und gute Destinationen wie Algier, London im doppelten 13 Kr.     1867/71: Lithographed 5 kr. rose red used in combination with Austria 1867 10 kr. blue on 1871 registered cover to Vienna, tied by SZEGED datestamp (May 24) in black (Gudlin = 10 pts). Part 'Ajanlott' registration cachet at upper right and reverse with complete 'Leopoldstadt / Wien' arrival cds of the following day. The envelope somewhat torn at right on opening but a very rare combination usage during the first month of issue for the lithographed 5 kreuzer. Un-recorded by Gary Ryan in Hungarian Mixed Frankings. Cert. Ferchenbauer (2014).

    Note: As far as we are aware, this is the earliest recorded Austria 1867 10 kr. and Hungary 1871 5 kr.  mixed issue franking.

    1871: Lithographed 10 kr. blue in combination with Austria 1867 3 kr. green on fully paid envelope to London, tied by clear "Arad 30/8 71" cds in black. Although the 3 kr. stamp was valid in Hungary only until 31 July 1871, the cover was not taxed, it shows a "P.D." in red, on reverse a transit cds of Vienna an a red London arrival mark (Sp 4 71). The rate to Great Britain was 13 kr. since July 1870, the weiterfranco of 8 kr. is seen on front. Signed Edwin Müller, cert. Puschmann (1992).

    1871: Lithographed 25 kr. violet, small piece bearing a single (Type VIII) and a horizontal strip of five (Types IV-III-II-I-IX), the single just touched at top right of piece but the strip superb and of fresh colour - the plating confirms that the single would have been the sixth stamp on the strip; all tied by by BROOD 28/5 circular datestamps in black. Slight trace of blue ink on stamps four and five in this remarkable strip (one of the largest known), otherwise extremely fine for such a rare multiple. Signed Ferenc Orban; Cert.     1874 (Aug 5): 5 kr. rose postal stationery envelope, sensibly opened for Exhibit display, sent registered to Kassán and additionally franked on reverse with 1871 Engraved 2 kr. orange vertical pair and Engraved 3 kr. green, trace of ageing, in a vertical pair tied by rare FELSÖ-VADÁSZ / ABAÚJ datestamps (Gudlin = 250 pts) in black. Front with Ajánlott/Sz 220' registration marking and reverse with Szikszo and Kassa cds's (Aug 5). Some minor tears away from adhesives at side of envelope, otherwise a most attractive cover. Cert.     1888: Reclamation / Search form issued by the Hungarian Post Office in 'Pakrac' with datestamp at top (Feb 16, 1888), the form franked on front with Hungary 10 k. blue tied by same cds, with further datestamps at base including framed K.K.MILIT POST XVIII / D. TUZLA (Feb 18), returned to 'Pakrac' (Feb 22), sent again and struck with BARCS cds (Feb 25) on the inside; further datestamps verso with 'Nagy-Kanizsa' (Feb 27), 'Osiek (March 3), oval framed 'Magy. Kir. Mozgoposták / Fönökségé / Nagy-Kanizsa Vasp.' (undated in violet), 'Eszék / Felsc Város / Osiek' (March 18). A few imperfections but a remarkable and scarce piece.

Framed rectangular red registration cachet perfectly struck at lower left. A great rarity on letter.

    Note: This 'automatic' system of registration, initiated in May 1906, was made possible by the sender dropping a 10 florint coin into the letter-box along with the letter.
