    Airmail 1919 (Oct 7): Military Flight cover from Constantinople to Chester, England cancelled by rare framed metallic handstamp "ARMÉES ALLIÉS EN ORIENT / POSTE AÉRIÈNNE" struck in violet with "Tresor et Postes / 506" cds at right (Oct 7). Some wear to envelope but an Official Military usage to a British Captain in the 21st Lancers, more especially scarce to the UK. Ex collection Sassower, illustrated in the London Philatelist, Volume 109, May 2000, page 125; with letter from the doyen of Airmail philatelists, Francis Field.

    Airmail 1919 (July-Oct): The Airmail collection of covers/cards (39) and 3 pieces from the Military Constantinople-Bucharest flight service, connecting to Paris by Rail, possibly the Orient Express, with covers (2) sent prior to the service starting, one ironically taking less time than the famous first flight of July 10th, with genuine flown covers cancelled "ARMÉES ALLIÉS EN ORIENT / POSTE AÉRIÈNNE" from July 14, 24, 28 and 31, August 4, 7, 11, 14, 18, 21, 25 and 28; September 1, 4, 18, 22, 29; October 2, 9, 16 - this stampless with "ARMÉES ALLIÉS EN ORIENT / POSTE AÉRIÈNNE" in violet, and four spurious covers cancelled after the service was discontinued on October 30. A splendid and rare lot. Ex collection Sassower.

    1866/1980ca. Accumulation, fine collection made up on album pages in three albums, beginning with Bosnia, Montenegro and Austrian Occupations and Austrian war issues. In the Jugoslavia part many better sets included, normally mounted, but several better sets are never hinged, including rare flooding stamps overprinted 'XXXX', there is a collection Croatia (WW2) and a collection Trieste Zone B and also Istria and Dalmatia. A stock-book with Serbia, another with additional Croatia and one with more Jugoslavia. High catalogue value!
