    Yanam 1881: French General Issues 5 c. green on greenish and 20 c. brick-red on green used on 1887 mourning envelope from Réunion addressed to the small French Settlement of Yanam, tied by St. Denis cds's in blue. Octagonal "Col. Fr. / Paq. Fr. T No. 4" in red and carried on the steamer "Sydney" to Mahé. Readdressed from Yanam to Ste. Marie, Madagascar but addressee again unfound and the cover mailed on again to Pondichery. At least eleven different cancellations, an extraordinary cover.

    French Indochina 1904/1968: Accumulation of over 130 covers with around thirty being prior to 1930. There are many different stamps and postmarks with a good proportion being sent to Europe including a 1905 card from Cambodia to Paris.     French Polynesia 1857: Entire letter from Papeete to Cognac endorsed "voie de Panama et d'Angleterre", being the second half of a long letter (the two halves mailed separately) written by a school inspector in Papeete on the education in the Islands and the benefits of travelling by boat rather than on horseback, and the inevitable comments on the attractiveness of the local population; struck in transit in London (April 1) with "GB / 2F 87½c." accountancy marking and thence via Calais and Paris to Cognac (April 3) and charged '12' décimes due in black. Early mail from Tahiti is very rare.

    Gabon Incoming Mail 1867: 30 c. brown (2) and 80 c. carmine used on 1872 mourning envelope from Avranches (Feb 15) to a Lieutenant on board the Frigate "Bellone" in the Gabon. Reverse with "Côte D'Or et Gabon" arrival cds (May 18) in black. The ship had sailed and the cover was duly returned to sender in Avranches (June 26) viua Calais and Lorient.     1871/1953: Impressive collection in fourteen volumes, beginning with the Emperor Franz-Josef lithograpies as well as the recess printed examples. Many later issues are represented on covers, postcards, parcelcards and other postal forms. The collector was particularly fond of Airmail issues, here we find the 1931 Zeppelin stamps on no less than nine cards and letters with flights documented including "VIENNA", "SWITZERLAND"; 1st. South America Flight, "CHICAGO" flight on three cards, Relais flight to the 4th. South America flight, as well as other non Zeppelin flights also well collected. The first miniature sheet from 1934 is included four times, including on cover. Post war 1947 Roosevelt minature sheets are included three times and the "Chain Bridge" is also present in Red and Blue versions including a FDC of the Red miniature sheet. The collection shows a good degree of completeness with the quality generally very fine.

    1873/2015: Impressive collection of in the classic section used, later unused stamps, including many very rare and desirable pieces, including the 1873 Skilling issue complete, with the 4 Sk carmine in both perforations with certificates, the 1876 5 A blue also in both perforations the perf 12 1/2 also with a certificate. There are four examples of the 1897 "prir" overprints, all with perforation 12 3/4 and certificates. The 1902 provisionals include a 6 A with erroneous 'black overprint', also with certificate. The 1912 King Fredrik 5 K is unused with full og. The 1924 provisional overprint is also present in postally used with a certificate, as well as better later provisionals. Naturally 1930 "ALLTHING" and Airmails including Zeppelin 1931 and HOPFLUG 1933 are present unused signed Dr. Debo and certificate Witschi. The certificate says unmounted, but 1 Kr and 10 Kr display some discolouration in the paper. Later issues show a good range of completeness with many good values including many sought after officials. A rare offering with thirty-three certificates from experts including Grönlund, Kaiser, Nielsen, Svendsen and Witschi.

File folds well away from the franking, edges of the entire partially broken, nevertheless a most interesting usage of a stamp of Lombardo - Veneto in Austria on a forwarder entire, delivered locally in Trieste.
