    First World Jamboree Olympia London 1907 (June 19): Original handwritten and signed letter from Lieutenant-General Baden Powell on the 'Horse Guards Whitehall S.W.' stationery lettersheet writing: "I'm thinking of having a small camp of boys for a week in Dorsetshire early in August, 1st to 8th. I should be glad to include six boys from the Boy's Brigade if you cand send them. I should not charge them anything - unless you think it is polite to do so. ..... I propose to teach them my new form of Scouting for Boys".     1920 (July 30th to August 7th): Picture Postcard 'Scouts Thanksgiving Service Olympia, London 1920' with yellow special label 'I am off to the Boy Scout Jamboree' on picture side with portrait of Toyomatsu Shimoda the representative Commissioner of Japan and signed by his own hand, together with Japan 1 s. stationery card showing Japan's special Scout cancel. Fine.rnOwing to difficulties of transport it was not possible for Japan to send a party of Scouts to England, but they delegated Mr. Koshiba and Mr. Shimoda as their official representatives. After returning from the Jamboree, he established the Nihon Kenjidan ("Japan Stalwart Youth Troop") in 1921 and worked as Japan's first Chief Scout.

    1912 (Apr. 8): Early Scouts' postcard from St. Petersburg addressed to Chief Scout R. Baden Powell at  '112 Victoria St. London' with imprint on address side: 'Uchenik Novichek, St. Petersburg Nevski 112, 2 R. 50 per year' (student news-journal) and on picture side with printed message in English: "On this day, the holiday of our Patron Saint George, we the Russian Boy-Scouts wish to convey kindly feelings of brotherly love and friendship towards the British Chief Scout and his followers." Fine and very early Russian Scouts' document.rnIn 1910 Baden-Powell visited Tsar Nicholas II in Tsarskoye Selo and in 1914 Colonel Oleg Pantyukhov established a society called Russkiy Skaut. Scouting spread rapidly across Russia and into Siberia, and by 1916, there were about 50,000 Scouts in Russia. Nicholas' son Tsarevich Aleksei was a Scout himself.

Very early card of one of the first Scout Camps in Russia.rnIn 1908, Baden-Powell's book Scouting for Boys came out in Russia by the order of Tsar Nicholas II. On April 30 1909 the young  Colonel Oleg Pantyukhov organized the first Russian Scout 'Beaver' troop in Pavlovsk, a town near Tsarskoye Selo, St. Petersburg.
