    1919: Prisoner of War concessionary rate printed cover to the German 'Hilfsverein' in Stockholm, with signature of sender at left (Adjutant Otto Bitter, a Prisoner of War from the 'SMS Dresden', scuttled off Robinson Crusoe Island in 1915), with 'Talcahuano' cds (May 16) and "Prisoner of War" handstamp in blue alongside. Reverse with Valparaiso transit cds and Stockholm arrival (July 29). Uncensored as the War was over, however Germany was bankrupt and the British had to pay for the prisoner's transport (hence they were still in Chile). A fine and scarce cover.

Manuscript docketing of receipt inside 'Diciembre 19, 1859'. One of just two recorded first issue covers with a three colour franking and the finer of the two, illustrated in Bortfeldt "Colombia Philatelic Handbook & Catalogue, 1859-1968" on page 11.
