Suez Canal Company: Saatijan 'reprints', compl. set of four values in complete sheets, 1c. and 20 c. sheets divided vertically in the middle, a great group for study of this interesting issue.rnNote: The printing stones for the 1 c., 5 c., and 20 c. are in the Postal Museum in Paris. The printing stone of the 40 c. value came in 1907 in the possession of a Paris stamp dealer named Saatijan. From this stone he created 'reprints' or to be exact forgeries which show many characteristics of the original stamp including the hatching above 'POSTES' but which can be distinguished  by the clear and smooth gum from the originals which have a thick and crazed gum. From the 40 c. stone Saatijan produced also stones for the three other values which can be distinguished when plated.rnReference: Peter Smith decribes the history of this issue and its related 'reprints' and forgeries in detail in FFE # 3 on pp. 7-20.
