Italian Post Offices in Tunisia 1863 (Nov 25): Triple rate Entire letter from Tunis to Genova, endorsed "Via di Palermo", bearing Sardinia 1861/63 40 c. rose-vermillion, a single adhesive and a horizontal pair, fresh colour and good embossing, tied by TUNISI 25 NOV. 63 POSTE ITALIANE cds's, another neat information strike alongside. Reverse with Palermo transit and Genova arrival (Nov 30) cds's. Some toning in the lower stamp margins, horizontal file below the stamps, nevertheless an appealing item. Cert. 1915/18ca.: 'Medalillon' Proof set of five values in red as 1 Corone, 2 Corone, 10 Corone, 20 Corone and one without value tablet, printed on watermarked and gummed paper, perf. 14., showing the same medalillon 'Head of Italia with diadem' as on the contemporaneous 25 Lire banknote, but remained unissued. Enzo Diena states in his 1989 certifcate an intended usage for Red Cross Charity purposes in Terre Redente (Venezia Giulia), but to date there is no evidence though.
