    Chalon Head Issues, London Printings 1820/22: Small part of the sample Plate produced and inscribed by "Perkins, Fairman & Heath / London. Patent Hardened Steel Plate" in microscopic lettering at base. The oval engine turning for item '20' being very similar to both the Tasmania Chalon issue and the Peru Steam Navigation Company issue of 1857. In June 1854 Perkins, Bacon were awarded the contract for the Chalon issue, William Humphrys being responsible for the head-plate from a water-colour sketch by E. Corbould.
