    Niger Company Territories / Akassa 1893: Great Britain 1887 Jubilee 2½ d. purple on blue, a single example perfin CMS of Church Missionary Society (and embossed CMS seal on flap), used on 1893 cover to London, struck with fine oval "THE NIGER TERRITORIES / POST OFFICE / AKASSA" despatch (Sacher Type 2, SG Type 1) in violet (Jan 19); the adhesive tied on arrival by "PAID / LIVERPOOL / BR. PACKET" datestamp (Feb 23) in black. Reverse with London arrival cds in red.     Niger Company Territories / Akassa 1890: Great Britain 1887 Jubilee 6 d. deep purple on red, a single example used on 1890 cover to Southport, struck with fine oval "THE NIGER TERRITORIES / POST OFFICE / AKASSA" despatch (Sacher Type 2, SG Type 1) in violet (Sept 29); the adhesive tied on arrival by Liverpool "466" oblöiterator with "PAID / LIVERPOOL / BR. PACKET" datestamp (Nov 2) alongside in red. Reverse with Southport arrival cds in black of the following day. A. / LIVERPOOL / BR. PACKET" datestamp (May 9) in black. Reverse with back flap missing but with complete and clear 'Te Aute' arrival cds (June 22) in black. Manuscript '1' in red crayon denoting the GPO credit to the Company at base. The cover with some aging and refolded for Exhibit display but an unusual franking.rnProvenance: Collection G.L.     Niger Company Territories / Lokoja 1900: Great Britain 1887 Jubilee ½ d. vermilion, six examples used on 1900 registered double rate cover front to London, tied by three strikes of oval "LOKOJA / POST OFFICE" despatch (Sacher Type 13, SG Type 8) in violet (March 15); with London registered arrival below (April 17) in red. A rare late usage of British stamps in the Niger Company Territories with the latest date recorded being April 2, 1900. File fold at left but a most attractive franking.rnProvenance: Collection W.H.     Niger Company Territories / Akassa 1894: Great Britain 1887 Jubilee 2½ d. purple on blue, a single example on 1894 cover to Sierra Leone, uncancelled, with oval framed "AGENT GENERAL / NIGER TERRITORIES" cachet in violet (Oct 3, earliest recorded use) and reverse with oval framed "THE ROYAL NIGER COMPANY CHARTERED & LIMITED / POST OFFICE / AKASSA" despatch (Sacher Type 3, SG Type 2) in violet (Oct 3). The obverse with three strikes of 'Freetown / Sierra Leone' arrivals (Oct 22). (2), Jubilee issue ½ d., 2½ d. and 5 d. values; usages in Burutu with 1881 1 d . llac, Jubilee issue ½ d., 2½ d., 5 d. and a remarkable block of ten 10 d. dull purple & carmine. Many with very fine strikes, viewing recommended.
