    1892: Great Britain 2½ d. postal stationery envelope addressed to Lt. Col. Altah Allah Khan, British Agency, Kabul, endorsed "via Pehawar" cancelled by LUTON squared circle datestamp (March 6) on despatch, the cover stopped in London (red cds March 7) and struck with framed "NOT TRANSMISSIBLE / Requires Stamps of P.O. CABUL / for Postage beyond Indian frontier" in violet. One of just three covers recorded with this rare Instructional marking, one example held in the British Postal archives and another being ex the "Cihangir" collection. A wonderful cover and an Exhibition item.rnrnNote: In early 1892 the Afghan Post Office stated that incoming mail to Afghanistan was to bear the internal domestic postage prior to arrival at the border (Landikotal / Ludikhana) in order to halt postage due collection difficulties.

    1948/1984: Highly specialised collection "ISRAEL" in 24 Volumes on self designed pages, unused, used and on cover. The collector has focussed on accumulating TABs, Plate Blocks, First Day Covers and commercial covers, Gutter pairs, perforation and other varieties, where they can be found. The first issue "1948 OLD COINS" (Gi. 1/9 and D10/14) alone takes up an entire album, containing the unused set with full TAB, as well as a set without TAB both used and unused, varieties and covers including many registered. The 1948 (5709) "New Year" comes with gutter pairs, mint, used and on covers, including a fine "First Day"  from "TEL AVIV" to "VIENNA", TABs  from right and "left" sheet margin. Later issues are also well represented, including many highly catalogued TABs, eg. the 1952 1000 pr. blue "State Coat of Arms" (Gi. 64a) twice unused with TAB. The condition is generally very good, odd early hinged but even there mainly unmounted.

    1899: King Rama V 1½ atts with the so called rejected type of head, an unused fresh and fine example. Higgins & Gage 5.rnNote: This issue was engraved and printed by Messrs. Giesecke & Devrient of Leipzig, Germany in 1897 and were not supposed to be issued, as the King was not satisfied with the portrait. Nevertheless from the 10'000 cards originally printed, 5'000 were distributed and were available for only a short time at three offices in Bangkok. The balance of the cards and the stamps with a similar design were burnt in 1903.
