    (1751/64): Prince August Aleksander Czartoryski (1697– 1782), two entire letters signed by his own hand, one with fine papered wax seal dated June (Czerwa) 15. 1751, other with missing seal, given at Warsaw 19.8.1764. Prince Czartoryski was a member of the Polish nobility and supported Stanisław Leszczyński during the War of the Polish Succession.

    1752 (June 30): Stanisław I Leszczyński (1677 – 1766) King of Poland, Grand Duke of Lithuania, Duke of Lorraine and a count of the Holy Roman Empire. Parchment Manuscript 1 p. oblong (seal missing) titled: 'Stanislas par la grace de Dieu Roi de Pologne, grand Duc de Lithuanie .... Donné en notre Ville [Nancy] le trentième Juin milseptcent cinquante deux.", signed by his own hand 'Stanislas Rey'. In 1725 his daughter Marie Leszczyńska married King Louis XV of France. 1736 Stanisław abdicated the Polish throne, but received in compensation the Duchy of Lorraine and of Bar, which was to revert to France on his death. He settled at Lunéville, founded in 1750 the Académie de Stanislas and Bibliothèque municipale de Nancy, and devoted himself for the rest of his life to science and philanthropy, engaging most notably in controversy with Rousseau.

    Scout's Post during the Warsaw Uprising 1944 (Aug. 5): Folded lettersheet sent within Warsaw to Zurawia Street, bearing circular handstamp 'HARCERSKA - POCZTA / CZERNIAKOW' with Scouting Movement’s Fleur-de-Lis in violet (Gryzewski type 5) together with rare single line "SPRAWDZONO" (approved) censor cachet (type 4), both in violet, dated on arrival '5 SIE. 1944' (type 31) in blue, with interesting content: " Wir halten noch die Stellung. Man hat uns zusammenbombardiert ... ich denke wir halten bis (zum) Ende durch". Very scarce handstamp. Cert. Petriuk (2021).rnrnThe Polish Scout’s Postal Service played a key role in maintaining contact between the inhabitants in the Warsaw Ghetto. Communication was maintained by messengers or couriers: 10 to 15 year old Boy Scouts and Girl Guides of the ‘Grey Ranks’. The ‘Grey Ranks' was the wartime name of the Polish Scouting Movement and by the time of the 1944 Uprising August 1 to October 2, and had developed an excellent organisational Network.
