    1850: Sydney View, 1 d. orange-red on soft thin yellowish paper, Plate 1, an unused block of twenty-three - the complete sheet less the two stamps at lower right, positions 24-25 - Plate Proof showing full sheet margins nearly all round, position 23 just shaved at right, position 18 with closed tear and several pressed creases but of no significance as the impression is of strong vibrant colour and is, without doubt, the largest multiple extant (the other large multiples of this Proof are of six and nine, sold together in the Corinphila 'Besançon' Sale I in November 2017, lot 6005) and thus this is a multiple of the foremost importance to both New South Wales and classic philately. Framed "6 / O CLOCK" marking alongside and reverse with "SYDNEY / ♚ / NEW SOUTH WALES" circular datestamp in black (Feb 24). Cover #74 in the Census. An exceptional and extremely fine usage, the finest of but two recorded thus - the other, ex Frajola, had the 'No Clouds' obliterated by the cancellation. An exhibition piece of the highest quality.     Competition Essays 1911 (May 31, closing date): Stamp size photographic Essay, 30 x 24 mm., applied to letter dated April 3, 1911, addressed to the Postmaster General's Department in Melbourne, with the competition entry showing Coats of Arms of the individual States with 'Australia' at top and 'Postage Two Pence' in lower tablet, the vignette of an allegorical 'Australia Fair' with a young lady clutching a scythe. Sent in by one Howard Davie of Surbiton, England. The letter with two pinholes at top and numbered on reverse 35 in pencil. A marvellous and extremely rare document and Essay.

    1927 (May 21): De Pinedo Supplementary Mail Trepassey to Rome, Italy, cover postmarked Trepassy (May 21, 1927) and franked with an unoverprinted 60 c. Cabot, tied upon arrival by 'Roma Centro Corrispondenze Ordinarie' cds (June 22), backstamped with a Rome slogan cancel from the same day. A very fine and fresh cover, only 75 covers were franked with an unoverprinted stamp while it is not known how many of those were in the supplementary mail cancelled in Rome. Cert.
