    1851/52: 1 cr. carmine on blued paper, 2 gr. blue on blued in a horizontal pair, tiny scissor cut at base, overlapping 6 cr. deep blue in a vertical pair, margins all just grazed to large, used on 1852 entire letter to Manchester, England and tied by rhomboid of dots obliterators in black. Livorno despatch datestamp (Nov 22) in black at left and framed P.D. alongside London 'Paid' transit cds (Nov 29) in red. An attractive and scarce three colour first issue franking.

    1852: 9 cr. brown-violet, a wonderful horizontal strip of four (third stamp with plate flaw on 'R' of 'Crazie'), paying the quadruple rate, used on 1856 entire letter endorsed 'Par Vapeur' from Livorno to Mraseille, the adhesives tied by four strikes of unframed 'P.D.' applied in black with a fifth strike at right. 'Livorno' despatch cds at base (April 14) in black and octagonal French entry marking at top in blue. The cover has been lightly cleaned and pressed, otherwise an exceptional and rare multiple on cover. Signed Giulio Bolaffi (1949), A. Bolaffi, L. Miro. Cert. Giulio Bolaffi (1969).     1852: 60 cr. dull scarlet on greyish paper, good margins all round for this difficult stamp, frame line touched at two sides, tied by mute barred obliterator. An exceedingly rare stamp, signed E. Diena and Richter; cert. Avi (2016) Sassone = € 40'000.
