    1872/77: Cérès 15 c. bistre and Type Sage 35 c. blackish violet on yellow, just shaved to large margins, used on 1882 registered  entire letter endorsed "Via Brindisi" to Bordeaux, tied by "INDE / PONDICHERY" cds (Jan 29) in black. Repeated strike adjacent and carried on P&O steamer "Peshawur" from Bombay to Suez, with "Col. Fr. V. Brind" / A. Mod" transit in red and arrival (Feb 20) on reverse. A most attractive mixed issue franking.
