    1817 (May 21): Entire letter from Port Louis to Bordeaux per private ship via the Cape, landed with fine "COLONIES PAR / ROCHEFORT" in black and "Achem(inée) de Rochefort 27 Aout 1817 pr. Duboisviolette" in manuscript. Charged '9' décimes due on arrival (3 décimes for inward sea rate and 6 déc. for 11 grams weight from La Rochelle to Bordeaux). An attractive entire that displays well.
