    Surcharged by the 'West Indian Press' 1878 (March 28): Provisional 1 d. on half 5 s. rose, perf. 15½ x 15, surcharge reading down, a used example showing '1' with curved serif (Type 3a) and variety "No Stop after D", tied to small local 1878 cover to St. Johns by 'Barbados' bootheel duplex (April 11) in black. Reverse with 'Barbados / 5' arrival datestamp of St. John Parish (same day). Exquisite and a stamp of great rarity on letter. Cert.
