    1894 (July 14): Provisional 2 c. on 100 c. red-brown, the unused vertical pair with variety "Pair, One without Surcharge", superbly centred and of fine colour - an immensely rare pair with just seven examples possible in this form. See Goodman, 'Guatemala 1' page 150 where this error is discussed: just 10 pairs printed with a block of six (three pairs) recorded and thus just seven vertical pairs can exist.
