    1840: 1 d. black, Plate 11, lettered RK, a used example with good to large margins all round tied to 1841 cover from Newcastle to Alston by Maltese Cross in black. Reverse with 'Newcastle-On-Tyne' double arc datestamp (March 29) of despatch. A fine and extremely rare cover. Cert.
