    1840: 1 d. grey-black, Plate 1a, lettered CB, a used example with large margins all round, neatly tied to 1840 cover from London to Waterford cancelled by the Maltese Cross struck in black - extraordinarily rare on this Plate - with reverse showing London despatch cds (March 30) and 'Waterford' double arc arrival cds (April 2) in black.
