    Liannos Private Post, Postage Dues 1866: (20 pa.) black on rose-pink paper, faded, 3rd printing (with horizontal line between 'Taxe Ext: and Taxe Int:' - the semo-colons only found are in positions 21 to 24 on the sheet, a used example of the Postage Due label with manuscript '2.20' in ink for Postage from Egypt amount and printed 20 pa. for local due with total in manuscript '3' piastres charge, cancelled by oval "Galata" datestamp in black (June 15, 1866). Faults but very rare, used a fortnight after issue and believed to be the earliest recorded date of use of a Liannos label.rnProvenance: Collection Gordon Torrey, Corinphila sale 99, June 1997, lot 9660.
