    Ionian Islands 1798 (Aug 18): Entire letter from Corfu (mentioned in text) to Franciade near St. Denis, disinfected with slits, struck on despatch with 'ARM. D'ITALIE / 10ME DON' handstamp in black (Reinhardt = 500 pts). Rated '13' in manuscript on obverse and reverse with '17' (Vendemaire) handstamp of arrival in black. A rare letter from Corfu at this period with content mentioning 'Only two letters received this morning, the rest lost'.
